Lighting Products was established in 1985 to
utilize new technology for developing more
effective and efficient luminaires. Ralph
Swarens, the founding president of E.L.P., has a
degree in Illumination Engineering and business
from Oregon State University. Since 1961 he has
worked in all phases of the lighting industry as
representative, designer and consultant. In 1976
he started his own lighting consulting firm which
ultimately served as the foundation to launch
Engineered Lighting Products nine years later.
Using his intimate, multilevel understanding of
the lighting industry, Mr. Swarens created a
professional, responsive manufacturing company to
make quality lighting fixtures. When you combine
